Audit log

The audit log records who changed access, membership, sharing and settings in your organisation, so admins can answer "who did this, and when?"

Who can see it

Reading and exporting the audit log is available to organisation admins if your plan includes it. On other plans, the Audit log tab is hidden. See the pricing page.

Folioso records events on every plan. If you upgrade to a plan that includes it, the log already shows what happened before you upgraded, up to the retention period. If your plan changes and stops including it, nothing is lost: the log reappears when you upgrade again.

Opening the audit log

Click the organisation card at the top of the sidebar and choose Audit log under Admin. Entries are listed newest first.

What's recorded

Invitations Invitation sent, resent, revoked, accepted
Members Member removed, member left, role changed, ownership transferred, email address changed, password changed, joined via email domain, member suspended, member unsuspended
Spaces Space created, renamed, deleted, access type changed, access granted, access revoked, access request approved, access request declined
Teams Team created, renamed, deleted, team member added, team member removed
Sharing Page shared, share revoked, share permission changed, link password set, link password cleared, public link enabled, public link disabled
Pages Page visibility changed, page moved to another space, orphaned page taken over, orphaned page deleted, recycle bin emptied
Organisation Organisation renamed, web address changed, branding changed, single sign-on changed, deletion requested, organisation reactivated
Email domains Email domain added, verified, settings changed, removed

The log doesn't record everyday editing; for that, see a space's activity feed.

Each entry shows the event, who did it, the details and when. Automatic events, such as members suspended for inactivity or an email domain verified, read Automatic in Who and give the reason in their details. The person's name and email are saved with the entry, so a colleague who has since left is still named.

What the log keeps private

The log never names content an admin couldn't open:

  • Nothing is recorded for pages in someone's personal space.
  • For a private page, the entry shows that the page is private, but not its title. A reference number tells entries for different pages apart.
  • Single sign-on changes record whether the client secret was replaced, never the secret itself.

Filtering

Filter from the column headers:

  • Event: one type of event.
  • Who: one person, Automatic, or Former member.
  • When: a date range.

Clear filters removes them all.

Exporting

Click Export CSV to download the log as a CSV file. The export includes the filters you've applied, so it contains what's on screen.

How long entries are kept

Entries are kept for 365 days, then deleted. The page shows the retention period beside the description.
