Exporting your data
Download a copy of everything you've written in Folioso: every page you created, as Markdown, plus every image you uploaded, bundled into one ZIP file.
Request an export
- Open Settings and scroll to Data.
- Select Export all data.
- You'll see Export started — we'll email you a download link when it's ready.
Folioso builds the archive in the background. When it's ready, you get an email with a download link.
You don't need to keep the page open. Selecting the button again while an export is being prepared doesn't start a second one. You can request up to 6 exports an hour.
Download it
Open the link in the email. The link:
- is valid for 24 hours;
- only works while you're signed in to your own account, so forwarding it doesn't give anyone else access.
After the link expires the archive is deleted. Request a new export if you need another copy. Each new export replaces the previous one.
What's in the archive
| Folder | Contents |
|---|---|
README.md |
A summary of what's in the archive. |
pages/ |
Every page you created that isn't deleted, as a Markdown file, in a folder for its space and, if it has one, its group. |
recycle-bin/ |
Pages you created that are in a recycle bin. |
images/ |
Every image you uploaded, as WebP files. |
Images inside your pages point at the copies in images/, so the archive works offline. Links to your own pages point at the matching Markdown file; links to pages you don't own point at the page in Folioso.
The export includes pages you created in every organisation you belong to.
What's not included
- Pages other people created, even if you've edited them.
- Version history snapshots, and your account settings.
To save a single page instead, see Exporting pages.
