Profile and email

Change your name, email address, profile photo and password from the Profile section of your account settings.

To open your settings, select the Settings icon next to your name at the bottom of the sidebar.

Your profile belongs to your account, not to one organisation. A change here shows in every organisation you belong to.

Change your profile photo

  1. In Profile, select Upload photo (or Change photo if you already have one).
  2. Pick a PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP or AVIF image. The largest file you can upload depends on your organisation's plan, and the limit is shown under the button.

Your photo is shown as a circle. Until you upload one, Folioso shows your initials.

To go back to your initials, select Remove. You can always remove a photo, even if your plan no longer allows uploads.

Change your name

  1. Under Name and email, edit Name (up to 100 characters).
  2. Select Save profile.

Change your email address

  1. Under Name and email, enter the new address in Email.
  2. If your account has a password, a Current password field appears. Enter your password.
  3. Select Save profile.

What happens next:

  • Folioso emails a verification link to the new address. Until you open it, the new address is unverified, and the actions that need a verified email (sharing, inviting people, domain features) are locked. See Signing in.
  • Folioso emails your previous address to say it was changed, so you'll know if someone else did it.
  • The change is recorded in the audit log of every organisation you belong to.

Email addresses aren't case-sensitive, and each address can belong to only one account. If the address is already in use you'll see That email address is already in use.

Change your password

  1. Under Change password, enter your Current password.
  2. Enter a New password and type it again in Confirm new password.
  3. Select Change password.

A password needs at least 8 characters, with upper- and lower-case letters, a number and a symbol, and it must differ from your current one.

Changing your password:

  • signs out all your other devices, and forgets any device you'd asked Folioso to remember;
  • keeps you signed in on the device you used;
  • sends you an email confirming the change;
  • is recorded in the audit log of every organisation you belong to.

Set a password for a GitHub account

If you signed up with GitHub, you don't have a password yet. The section is called Set a password: enter a New password, confirm it, and select Set a password. You can then sign in with your email address as well as GitHub.

You'll need a password to turn on two-factor authentication and to delete your account.

Note

If you forget your password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page. See Signing in.
