Introduction
Folioso is a lightweight knowledge base for developers: rich-text notes, syntax-highlighted code, diagrams, images and easy sharing in one web app. This page explains what it does and where to start.
What Folioso is for
Folioso is the place you open when you think "I need to write this down". It's deliberately simpler than a full wiki, and it's built around the things developers actually keep:
- Notes and how-tos in a clean editor with headings, lists, task lists, tables and alert boxes.
- Code in highlighted code blocks with line numbers, a language picker and a copy button.
- Diagrams written as Mermaid or PlantUML source and drawn on the page.
- Images you paste, drop or upload, resized and captioned in place.
- Links between pages, so your notes build on each other.
Everything saves as you type, and when colleagues open the same page you edit it together in real time.
How it's organised
Your work lives in an organisation, which has its own address. Inside it, pages sit in spaces, and you can sort a space's pages into groups. Every member also gets a private My space for their own notes.
Spaces are also how access works: each one decides who can read and edit what's in it. See Key concepts for the full picture.
Where to start
- New to Folioso? Follow the Quick start to create your account and write your first page.
- Want to understand the building blocks first? Read Key concepts.
- Looking for something on screen? Finding your way around is a tour of the sidebar, the page header and search.
- Ready to write? Start with Creating and managing pages and keep Keyboard shortcuts handy.
Plans
Folioso has four plans: Free, Pro, Team and Business. Every plan includes the editor, code blocks, diagrams, images, tags and real-time collaboration. Paid plans raise the limits and add features such as version history and PDF export. See Plans for how plans work and the pricing page for what each one includes.
